EU Modex

The European Union commissioned five full-scale exercises for civil operation in 2018 and 2019.  Situations where massive earthquake, mudslides, and flooding occur in a country, operations for civil service will be set up as a modular Exercise.

CRIMEDIM’s Role in ModEX 2018 and 2019

CRIMEDIM plays a significant role in the Module Exercise planned for 2019. The academic center will contribute with its expertise in training in the area of Emergency Medical Teams, humanitarian health and disaster medicine.

Committed to supporting innovative projects in disasters and humanitarian crisis, CRIMEDIM is willing to use state of the art technologies to enhance Module Exercises in the coming year.

An International Consortium is responsible for planning, developing and implementing Module exercises and the European Union handles all financial obligation.

The modules are trained in Practice during the following exercises:

  • Experts of a Union Civil Protection Team (UCPT)
  • Medium and Heavy Urban Search and Rescue (USAR)
  • Experts of a Union Civil Protection Team (UCPT)
  • Emergency Medical Teams (EMTs)
  • Technical Assistance Support Team (TAST)
  • USAR in chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) conditions

Module Exercises and the USAR modules are responsible for the re-evaluation of the standards made by the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG).
