The induction course for the first edition of the International Doctoral Program in Global Health, Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Medicine took place at CRIMEDIM from January 28 to February 8, 2019 and gathered in Novara six enthusiastic students from all over the world to attend two intense weeks of classes. The classes were all carefully planned with working groups and open discussions where various experts and professors engaged with students, with presentations as well as peer discussions.
At the end of the course, the students will be awarded doctoral degrees from the two institutions that will be sharing the responsibilities of supervising, coordinating and examining the researcher’s work that will contribute towards the PhD degree: Università del Piemonte Orientale (UPO), Italy and Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Belgium.
Our six students come from very different countries(Spain, Brazil, South Sudan, Italy and England) and are all united by passion and interest in Global Health, Disaster Medicine and Humanitarian Aid.
