TEAMS project Consortium launched the final event of TEAMS project on December 5th 2018. The event was hosted by Manchester University and was opened by Tony Redmond from HCRI (Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute). Tony opened the floor providing a brief history of EMTs (Emergency Medical Teams), followed by Luca Ragazzoni (CRIMEDIM) who introduced the TEAMS project.
The development of TEAMS curriculum framework and the description of the training package were done respectively by Adele Aubrey (HCRI) and Nieves Amat Camacho (Karolinska Institute). During the meeting the pilot trainings carried out in Germany and Turkey were also described.
The final result of the project will be an open online training package consisting of innovative blended learning teaching materials and simulation-based exercises focused on operational team training adaptable to different types of EMTs and sustainable for low-income countries and resource-poor settings. The training package will be launched at the beginning of 2019.
