Alessandro Costa

Medical doctor, graduated from Università del Piemonte Orientale in Novara, Italy (2015) and specialized in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (2021).

Alessandro is a specialist in medical education, with particular focus on disaster medicine. His specialty is the use of technological tools for the organization, conduction and evaluation of medical training in advanced simulation settings, in situ-training and full-scale disaster medicine events.

During the Years of collaborations, Alessandro has contributed to many international disaster medicine trainings as part of the organizing team or as coordinator, such as the TdmT (Training Disaster Medicine Trainers), the EMDM (European Master in Disaster Medicine) or the NIGHTINGALE project. He is also regularly contributing in clinical training and competition events such as EuroSIMCUP (held annually during the EuSEM congress), SIMCUP Italy and the Simulation Championship at SMART (Smart Meeting in Anesthesia and Resuscitation inTensive Care).

Alessandro clinical work is focused in intensive care and pre-hospital emergency care, with a research focus in mechanical ventilation.
