Research Fellow in Disaster Medicine and/or Public Health (Quantitative Research)
JOB DESCRIPTION
CRIMEDIM - Center for Research and Training in Disaster Medicine, Humanitarian Aid and Global Health is seeking an enthusiastic Research Fellow with a background in disaster medicine and/or public health and experience of undertaking quantitative research in disaster and humanitarian settings.
CRIMEDIM is an interdisciplinary academic center of the Università del Piemonte Orientale and a World Health Organization Collaborating Center since 2016. CRIMEDIM’s projects revolve around health system resilience strengthening, access to care as well as community preparedness and response to emergencies and disasters, both in high-income countries and fragile and conflict-affected settings. CRIMEDIM has a long-lasting experience in capacity-building for disaster preparedness and response at different levels within the health sector, as well as in enhancing research in emergency and disaster risk management. The new Research Fellow will be involved in a multidisciplinary and international environment, and s/he will participate in several collaborative research projects in the field of global health, humanitarian aid and disaster medicine.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Proven experience in epidemiological methods and quantitative analysis.
Strong statistical skills using a statistical package (STATA and/or R).
Strong understanding of disaster medicine and public health concepts.
Proven experience working with large databases.
Ability to develop and validate questionnaires.
Commitment to working collaboratively in an international and interdisciplinary team.
Fluency in English (spoken and written).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Effective organization skills.
BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION
Research fellowship, one-year full time fixed term contract from spring 2023 (assegno di ricerca for the Italian University rules).

LOCATION
CRIMEDIM Headquarters (Novara, Italy). Working from distance could be negotiated with the Scientific Director.
