Postdoctoral Researcher
JOB DESCRIPTION
CRIMEDIM - Center for Research and Training in Disaster Medicine, Humanitarian Aid and Global Health, with a broad experience in promoting and coordinating research and training projects in emergency and disaster medicine, is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to be involved in a multidisciplinary and international team of researchers based in Novara, Italy.
The postdoctoral researcher will perform high quality research in the fields of disaster medicine, humanitarian aid and global health, and will work in close cooperation with CRIMEDIM’s scientific coordinator and PhD coordinator to overview and constantly renew the research activities of the center.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
Assisting in the coordination of the doctoral program.
Supervising PhD students and junior researchers.
Planning and conducting lectures, particularly on research methods.
Providing ongoing feedback to PhD students and junior researchers and assisting in the writing of scientific papers.
Scientific coordination and/or participation in international projects related to disaster medicine, humanitarian aid and global health (e.g., emergency public health interventions, prehospital and hospital disaster management, humanitarian assistance).
Assisting in the identification and drafting of research proposals, tenders, and fellowships to secure new national and/or international research funding.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
PhD and either an MBBS or MSc in a relevant field (preferably in global health, emergency public health, emergency/disaster management, or humanitarian assistance).
Proven research and scientific writing skills, including publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Fluency in English (both spoken and written).
Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment, with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
Strong independence and self-management skills.
BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION
Research fellowship, one-year full time fixed term contract (assegno di ricerca as per Italian University rules).

Training Specialist in the field of Disaster Medicine
JOB DESCRIPTION
CRIMEDIM - Center for Research and Training in Disaster Medicine, Humanitarian Aid and Global Health, with a broad experience in promoting and coordinating research and training projects in emergency and disaster medicine, is looking for a training specialist in emergency and disaster medicine.
The professional will be involved in a multidisciplinary and international environment and s/he will oversee the planning and management of innovative training projects in disaster and humanitarian settings in close collaboration with the scientific coordinator.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
The professional's responsibilities will include:
Coordination of a team working on education and training in emergency and disaster medicine within ongoing European and World Health Organization projects.
Providing assistance for the didactic management of CRIMEDIM courses, ensuring that all course materials and resources are up-to-date and the course is delivered effectively and engagingly.
Development and coordination of pioneering training projects for health professionals in disaster response and humanitarian assistance.
Planning and organization of simulation exercises, training events, and workshops.
Participation in research activities related to disaster and humanitarian settings.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
PhD (preferable).
Physicians, Nurses or Paramedics qualification (preferable).
Relevant knowledge of the emergency, disaster, and humanitarian landscape.
Previous experience in planning and delivering training courses in the field of emergency and disaster medicine (preferable).
Great interest in technologies and new tools to improve the effectiveness of emergency and disaster response.
Ability to use academic search engines.
Strong interpersonal and relationship skills to communicate effectively with diverse organizations, professions, and backgrounds.
Ability to work both independently and in a team.
Fluency in English speaking and writing.
