Pier Luigi Ingrassia
Medical doctor, graduated from Università degli Studi di Palermo, Italy (2001) and specialized in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (2006). He also obtained a PhD in Experimental and Clinical Medicine (Disaster Medicine and Education) from Università del Piemonte Orientale (2006). Currently he is the director of SIMNOVA – Interdepartmental Center for Innovative Didactics and Simulation in Medicine and Health Professions, at the Università del Piemonte Orientale in Novara, Italy. He is also a Visiting Professor at the Free University of Brussels and secretary member of the executive board of the EMDM Academy.
Pier Luigi worked for almost two years for the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe as a consultant and technical officer for Emergency Medical Services and Hospital System. He had been deployed to several national and international missions in the response and recovery efforts following crises. He was involved in European projects funded by The European Commission and other projects in Albania, Romania, Macedonia and Kyrgyz Republic.
