Elena graduated in Modern Foreign Languages (BA, 2017) from Università del Piemonte Orientale in Vercelli (Italy). In 2019 she obtained a Master’s Degree in Languages, Cultures and Tourism (curriculum: Modern American and European Languages and Literature) from the same university. She is a PhD student in Global Health, Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Medicine at CRIMEDIM.
She is currently working on a doctoral project in Comparative Literature focusing on memoirs depicting sexual violence in conflicts and in other contexts. Her main areas of interest include narrative medicine and medical humanities, women and gender studies, nonfiction and autobiographical writings, literary trauma studies and linguistics.
