Joseph Bonney
Dr. Joseph Bonney is an Emergency Medicine Specialist under the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons and pursuing his Fellowship in Emergency Medicine. He holds a Master’s in Public Health in Health Service Planning and Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Currently, he works as an Emergency Medicine Specialist/Attending at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital’s Emergency Medicine Directorate. Dr. Bonney has a Masters in Disaster Medicine through the European Masters for Disaster Medicine Program from the University of Eastern Piedmont with an MSc DM.
Dr. Bonney has played key roles in the setup, teaching, and management of the COVID-19 in Ghana. His keen interest in Research, Emergency, and Disaster medicine has propelled him to work with major players in the health industry in the world including working on the NEMS project in Sierra Leone. He has over 20 presentations at international conferences in South Africa, Canada, Egypt, and Australia. He is currently enrolled in the International Doctoral Program in Global Health, Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Medicine is a joint Ph.D. designed and offered by the Università del Piemonte Orientale (UPO), Italy, through the Research Center in Emergency and Disaster Medicine (CRIMEDIM) and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Belgium, through the Research Group on Emergency and Disaster Medicine (ReGEDiM).
He is recently a member of the African coaLition for Epidemic Research, Response and Training (ALERRT) and Global Health and Infectious Diseases Research Group of Kumasi Collaborative Center for Research in Tropical Medicine.
