Eric Weinstein
Medical doctor, graduated in Physics (BS) from Tulane University in New Orleans Louisiana (1983) and in Medicine and Surgery (MD) from Rutgers University Medical School in Camden New Jersey (1987). He is also a graduate of the European Master in Disaster Medicine from Università del Piemonte Orientale in Novara, Italy (2016).
Eric completed a US Air Force sponsored Emergency Medicine Residency at NY Medical College-Metropolitan Hospital in Manhattan (1991). While he was stationed at Andrews Air Force Base he taught Military and Emergency medicine at USUHS (Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences) in Bethesda, Maryland (1991-93).
Over the last 25 years, he has been active within numerous South Carolina emergency departments, hospitals, and local and state committees to advance Disaster Medicine.
His research interests include mass casualty incident triage; the triage and treatment of the entrapped and mangled extremities in resource constrained environments; spinal immobilization in resource constrained environments; and, developing an attack vulnerability analysis.
In CRIMEDIM, Eric is involved in field and online training activities and is in charge of The Riceland Game.
