Federica graduated in Biomedical Laboratory Techniques (BSc, 2015) from the University of Perugia (Italy). In 2017, she completed a Master’s degree in Medical, Veterinary and Forensic Biotechnology, with a specialization in Forensic Biotechnology, at the same university. In 2022 she completed a second-level Master in Law, Organization and Management of Security at the Sapienza University of Rome. She is currently a PhD candidate in Global Health, Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Medicine at the University of Eastern Piedmont (CRIMEDIM), where her doctoral research is ongoing.
Alongside her academic training, she has gained research experience both in Italy at the University of Perugia and abroad, including a position as Research Assistant at Northumbria University (UK), where she worked on forensic OMICS approaches, microbial and bone DNA analysis.
Federica is a Chief Technical Officer Biologist in the Italian State Police, working at the Interregional Scientific Police Cabinet in Turin. She operates within an accredited Forensic Genetics Laboratory, where she carries out DNA analyses and contributes to forensic investigations in compliance with quality standards. Her current doctoral work is developed within the framework of disaster medicine, integrating her forensic and biomedical background with health-related challenges in crisis settings.
Her main research interests include forensic genetics, molecular biology and the application of biomedical sciences in humanitarian and disaster contexts.
