Francesco is a nurse working in the Emergency Department at Maggiore della Carità Hospital in Novara. He holds an MSc in Nursing from the University of Eastern Piedmont and a postgraduate diploma in Tropical Nursing from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. As part of his master’s programme, he completed an internship at MUDRI (Monash University Disaster Resilience Initiative) at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, where he developed expertise in community resilience-building initiatives and in the role of nursing in disaster management.
While he is still developing his expertise and defining his specific area of focus, his main interests lie in disaster response and humanitarian aid. At CRIMEDIM, he was initially involved in the Mountadapt project and is currently working on a project to develop a Disaster Preparedness Capacity Development Program for Family and Community Nurses (DiPP-CoN), aimed at facilitating access to care and reducing avoidable hospitalisations during disasters. Through this work, he is gaining expertise in review methodology and qualitative research.
Outside CRIMEDIM, he organizes and supports annual missions with physicians and nurses, to assist a dispensary in the city of Bozoum, in the Central African Republic, and enjoys cooking and hiking.
