Giovanni is currently a PhD candidate at CRIMEDIM and Emergency Medicine physician focused on austere and extreme environments.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine from the University of Padua and completed a postgraduate course in Aeronautical and Space Medicine.
Founding President of SIMAE: the Italian Society of Extreme Environments Medicine.
He has taken part in multiple humanitarian missions with the Italian Red Cross, including the response to the Central Italy earthquake in 2016 and service on quarantine ships during the COVID-19 pandemic, and in Search and Rescue operations in the Mediterranean Sea with the German NGO Sea-Eye.
Coordinator of the non-profit project “Global Medical Trainers”, delivering free first-aid training in remote regions, including Nepal, Ukraine, and Zimbabwe.
Strong interest in environmental and marine conservation, serving as medical officer aboard Sea Shepherd vessels in Mexico, Gabon, and Italy. Volunteer physician for the Italian Alpine Rescue Service (CNSAS).
