José Garcìa Ulerio

Medical doctor from the Dominican Republic with vast international experience. He volunteered at CMMB Headquarters in New York, USA, analyzing health data and policies from around the world. Also, dedicated 2 years to medical missions in hard-to-reach areas in Kenya and post-conflict zones in Sudan, managing complex cases in challenging environments. Holds an Erasmus Mundus Master in Public Health in Disasters from the University of Oviedo, Spain, and the University of Nicosia, Cyprus, where he acquired expertise in humanitarian aid, disaster risk reduction, public health response systems, and epidemiology.

Interested in innovative projects at the intersection of technology and healthcare, Jose started at CRIMEDIM as an intern in research, developing a Scoping Review on mobile health interventions for continuity of care of MNCH services during emergencies. Continuing this line of work, he has got involved in machine learning trainings, pursuing a higher understanding of the integration of technology into the medical practice. He envisions a future where expertise in disaster medicine and technology converge to address global health challenges.
