Serena holds a Master’s Degree in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology (PharmD) from the University of Pavia. After completing a Master’s Degree in Drug Design and Development (University of Pavia), she began working as an epidemiologist and clinical researcher at the Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research IRCCS. During this time, she earned a Master’s Degree in Epidemiological and Biostatistical Methodology in Clinical Research (University of Milan-Bicocca) and spent her last year working as a Clinical Research Coordinator in infectious diseases at Niguarda Hospital.
She is currently involved at CRIMEDIM as a researcher, collaborating in several projects, including DiPP-CoN. Serena also serves as the supervisor for Ethics Committee submission procedures.
Her research interests focus on outbreaks, continuity of care in infectious diseases in conflict-affected countries, and disaster medicine in healthcare and mountain settings.
