TEAMS

Training for emergency medical teams and european medical corps

TEAMS is a EU funded project aiming at developing a standardized training package, focused on operational team training for Emergency Medical Teams (EMTs).

In 2018 the TEAMS project successfully delivered an innovative online training package consisting of blended learning teaching materials and simulation-based exercises focused on operational team training, adaptable to different types of EMTs, and sustainable for low-income countries and resource poor settings.

Teams 2.0

One year after, TEAMS 2.0 delivered the Training of Trainers program to train novice team leaders and training managers of EMT organizations on how to effectively use the TEAMS training package.

Teams 3.0

In November 2020 TEAMS 3.0 project was launched, with the objective to deliver a more standardized, innovative and cost-effective approach to EMTs training in Europe and across the world. More specifically, TEAMS 3.0 will:

1) revise and update the TEAMS training package involving new partners, experts and EU EMT organizations;

2) develop new scenarios and exercises for the TEAMS training package to train EMTs to respond to outbreaks, man-made disasters and other possible cross-border risks;

3) disseminate and deliver the updated TEAMS training package engaging four EMTs in Europe to enhance cross-border emergency management through training programmes and joint cross-border small-scale exercises.

Along with all the EMT organizations, universities, professional bodies and training agencies involved in EMT training are expecting to benefit from the outcomes of this project.
